The Maricopa County Community Colleges Nursing program, approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), will prepare you with the fundamental skills necessary to be successful as a nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse (LPN), or as a registered nurse (RN) in a variety of acute, long-term, and community-based healthcare settings.
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing Program is available at eight of the Maricopa Community Colleges. Clinical experiences are provided in a variety of healthcare settings.

Fast Track Practical Nursing
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Fast Track Practical Nursing program provides students with the theory and skills required to practice as a practical nurse in acute care, extended care, and intermediate care settings.
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Nurse Assisting prepares students for employment as a nurse assistant. The program combines classroom instruction with clinical laboratory practice and long-term care and/or acute care experiences.
Program Requirement Effective December 2021
To all students who are preparing to apply for the Maricopa Nursing RN program – ALL applications submitted after December 23, 2021, require the completion of a Nurse Assistant (NA) course or a current Nurse Assistant certification (CNA) or license (LNA) as a requirement for application.
